In China where cosmetics market is expanding, Guideline for registration and evaluation of new cosmetics ingredients was enforced in 2011. Until then, 10 toxicity studies including long-term toxicity study were required for the notification. Now some requirements can be exempted depending on the details of the substance such as its registration status of other countries, properties, purpose of use, and so on.
