
SCAS (SCASS) Group Laboratories, as the first of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region, intends to provide versatile analysis services to meet the requirements from petroleum, chemical, semi-conductor, electronic, and pharmaceutical industries utilizing the analytical expertise that SCAS (Japan) has accumulated through its history of 37 years.
SCAS established its Singapore Laboratory in 1997 as its first overseas base and, in 2007, established a new organically linked laboratory in Shanghai, China to expand its analytical business sphere.

SCAS SINGAPORE PTE LTD (SCASS) was established in 1997 within SMAG (Singapore
MMA and Acrylic Group) plant led by Sumitomo Chemicals Japan on Jurong Island,
Singapore, and began operations in 1998 as the first overseas base of Sumika
Chemical Analysis Service, Ltd.(SCAS). It is also the first Singapore-based
Japanese chemical analysis service company that provides versatile analysis services
to meet requirements from various industries not only in Singapore but also in
other ASEAN countries through its long-experienced analytical expertise.
Analysis services provided by SCASS specializes in microanalytical technology
for petrochemical and environmental fields, as well as in material analyses centering
around HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and green procurement in the electronic and electric-appliance
fields.
SCASS has always been developing the analytical business with its motto of “provide
satisfactory data and quick response”, with the full support of SCAS, Japan.
SCASS will continue to reinforce its analytical technologies and equipment to
meet versatile analysis requirements from customers in Asean countries making
sure to contribute to the development of the Asean region as a whole

Jurong Island
Jurong Island is a S$7 billion land reclamation project to amalgamate seven existing
islands off Singapore's southern coast. The island was linked to the mainland
via a S$240 million causeway in March 1999.
SMAG Complex
Japan's Sumitomo Chemical's group companies have constructed Acrylic Acid and
its derivatives and MMA monomer and polymer plants at Pulau Sakra, one of Jurong
Island, in late 1998, and SCASS entered into a full scale operation of providing
those companies with chemical analysis services, with respect to such chemical
products.

SCASS Laboratory, the first of its kind in Singapore, will provide versatile
analysis services to meet requirements from petroleum, chemical, electronics,
pharmaceuticals industries through analytical expertise developed by SCAS over
a quarter of century.
